I have tried several recipes and just got dry bread. I found this one and it worked perfectly. My husband couldn't stop saying mmmmmm. I used 2% milk and that worked just fine.

I've never made bread pudding from scratch before, but decided to give it a try for my mom's birthday. She has always been a big bread pudding lover and has tried hundreds of bread pudding; she loved it! Best of all, it was super easy. I highly recommend this recipe.

I guess from all the enthusiasm expressed for this recipe, I excepted more . . . A tad lacking in flavor, overall, in my opinion . . . needs something more, but for me, it's way more food than I want to experiment with . . .

Here is a dessert that is easy to prepare, makes your house smell wonderfully delicious, and has your guests making those mmmmmm noises as they eat it. Although I am not one who dlights in making desserts, this recipe was very easy to do and can be done ahead of time allowing you to enjoy your guests. It takes minutes to serve and has everyone making happy nioses as they eat it. I prepared it just before my guests were to arrive leaving it out to cool and perfuming the house with its delicious aroma. I would, however, serve it slightly warmed the next time, just enough to take off the chill and use a dollop of whipped cream or creme fraische.

This is the first time I made bread pudding and I was delighted to learn that the recipe is simple and tastes excellent. No need to even make a topping with this one.

I was searching for a recipe that I could make or easily adapt, since my sweetheart is lactose intolerant but loves bread pudding. Most recipes require half and half or heavy cream. This recipe only requires milk, which was easily substituted with lactose free whole milk. I also used semi-sweet chocolate chips; doubled the portion ( because we both love chocolate and chopped it into finer pieces. This recipe is simple, delicious and a definite crowd pleaser!
