The baking time is definitly less, 8-9 minutes in my oven. You can make shaped cookies if you cool the dough at least 1 hour and liberly sprinkle the board with flour. These cookies taste very good.

I've also tried a bunch of sugar cookie recipes, and found the dough either hard to work with or super bland. These cookies were easy to make and very tasty. My son (4 yrs and I had a blast rolling out the dough and cutting them into shapes. They are great both sprinkled with sugar (I had some fancy organic sugar and frosted. I will put in a pinch of nutmeg the next time I make them.

I made this dough with my 3 year old son and instead of circle cookie we use christmas cutters instead. The only thing is watch the bake time, ours baked in 7 minutes. As far as the cookies go, they are AMAZING!!!! They are so tasty and I will never be using store bough sough again! We have tried tons of dough recipies before and usually I find them to be bland. These cookies even are great with cream cheese frosting if you want to add some frosting to them. Give this a try and you will be happy you did!
