Moist but does taste like cornbread. Use lots of frosting and it could be better

Love, love, love and loved them! Perfect cupcakes and they did NOT taste like cornbread!

Great frosting! But the cupcake really did resemble cornbread. I would maybe add a half cup more sugar? But the frosting was super rich so it sort of evened the whole thing out.

Very good but I used a differant icing recipe. I didn't want Chocolate so I used Rachal Ray's icing recipe and is just a simple v. icing. I put food coloring in it and BAM perfect for a baby shower. Simple go to cupcakes. Very good.

I wish people who either haven't made the recipe or have CHANGED the recipe wouldn't review. You unfairly lower the rating , which makes it difficult for others to judge whether or not they want to make the recipe. If you use more chocolate or more sugar, or bake it too long, etc, you are NOT making the same recipe, so you shouldn't rate it!!! The cupcakes were delicious!

Great "go to" cupcake; they were easy to make (I doubled it and they were very moist. I found another frosting recipe separately (vanilla as we were chocolated out from the holidays. Wonderful change!

This is the perfect recipe for a dozen yellow cupcakes. I was worried about them not being sweet enough, so I added a little more sugar to the batter until it tasted to my preference, and also chocolate chips! They were great! I'm not sure how others ended up having problems with how they turn out..

I do see why people have compared these to cornbread. I read the comments after I put them in the over. I cooked them for 18 minutes and they were very good. Moist as can be.
