This review is just for the icing recipe. I made it to go on a smores cupcake, and it is the best milk chocolate frosting I've ever had. I used Hershey's Special Dark and Symphony Milk Chocolate. I highly recommend the frosting!

I was worried about making something from scratch, but I would recommend this to anyone. I'm not a baker but this was so easy to make. I read the other reviews & I thought I would give everyone a little secret to this recipe. Use a box of vanilla pudding. Just add the powder just like you would your dry ingredients & it makes the difference. Just try it. This was so good.

I really enjoyed the frosting recipe, but the cupcake wasn't nearly sweet enough and came out really firm. I wish I had gone with my gut and added a little extra milk, I don't think 1/2 cup was quite enough, I wish I'd gone for 3/4 cup.

I just needed an easy chocolate frosting recipe and was so glad I came across this one. I used Baker's unsweetened chocolate but everthing else was the same. It came out sooo good. I will make this again next time I make a cake. (who needs icky frosting from a container when this just is fantastic!

I would do 2 cups of butter, 1 cup of sugar and 3-4 tsps of vanilla for a little more flavor. Bit, it wasn't terrible. I wanted to bake w/ my 3year old and wanted something easy and w/ the ingrediants I had in the house, so, this recipe was perfect.

When you're craving yellow cupcakes with milk chocolate frosting, this is a great go-to recipe. It's a basic recipe but a great one. The cupcakes are moist and flavorful and the frosting is creamy and perfect.

When I made the batter, I thought I had made a mistake. It was mousse like, not like cake batter. I baked it anyway. The cupcakes were delicious. More vanilla flavor than other recipes I have tried. The icing is milk chocolatly delicious. Beats the powdery cocoa icing I have been making. Yum!!!! My new fav cupcake recipe!!
