This is very, very tasty! Since I used leftover corned beef and cabbage I had made in the crock pot, I omitted adding any extra cooking liquid. The veggies and beef had enough liquid already. Once everything heats up then it starts to release. Also, it really does take about 7-8 minutes on medium high to get that nice char on the outside. If you want both sides cooked then you need to wait until the first side is thoroughly cooked, or you won't be able to flip it.

I gave this 4 stars because I think the cooking time is off. It should be cooked a bit longer.

Good basic easy dish. Just make sure you use quality corned beef.

My husband raved that this was the best corned beef hash he has ever had! He swore he would never be able to order this at a restaurant again and be satisfied!
I added a little too much of the cooking liquid, so wasn't able to flip it at the end, but it was still delicious. We cooked the egg for on top and we all loved it, including my 3yr old.
We used leftovers from the slow cooker corned beef and cabbage recipe.

It will never taste like your mother's regardless of how hard you try. She would always add extra veggie so we would have this. I think what set it apart was she used lard in that cast iron skillet. This is closet to a recipe like her's I have seen so you are getting the stars up front. The corned beefs are ready to go in the pots to start it off. It's that crispy crust that seals it together.

We make a Sunday Brunch at home most weeks, and were looking for something new. This fit the bill perfectly. We used The Hearty Boys "Beer Braised Corned Beef with Red Potatoes and Carrots" on Saturday to get the leftover corned beef. (I highly recommend that one, delicious! We put the optional eggs on top and it was the perfect brunch with a Champagne cocktail.
