My husband (french who had never eaten scones is now addicted to them. I have been baking them almost every day since I first tried this recipe last week. Years ago, I used to bake scones quite often. Now, no longer remember the recipe so I went to search ones. It was a huge success, a lot better than my old scone recipe.

I love scones for breakfast with my tea, and this recipe was so simple I can throw it together still half awake and have fresh warm scones by the time I've showered and dressed. In a pinch I have used raisins, and I've tried blueberries too, all with great results.

I MADE THESE FOR THE DOCTOR I WORK FOR. HE LIKED THEM WITH THE ACCOMPANYING SEEDLESS BLACK RASPBERY JAM I BROUGHT HIM. I,HOWEVER HAVE TASTED MUCH BETTER. BLAND, NOT SWEET ENOUGH----JUST SO-SO.

Great result from this recipe. Mouthwatering straight from the oven. Prepared with a minimum of fuss. Nothing let after the family finished.

This is a wonderfully tasty recipe. I had no currants the day I made these and threw in a half cup of sliced almonds instead and topped with sugar, Cinnamon, brushed with cream and topped with a few more sliced almonds. My family loved them.

Finally, a recipe for currant scones I'll use again. Heck, I even have an entire cookbook devoted to scones, but these beat them, hands down. The orange zest adds a nice counterbalance to the clotted cream and strawberry jam I put on top of them. They are fairly moist, which is one of my requirements for a great scone. Even my two year old enjoyed them.
