I made this for gifts a couple of years ago and it has become a staple in our house - hubby and I thoroughly enjoy this soup!

I'm always on the lookout for a good lentil soup recipe. I found this kind of bland, but once I added cumin, coriander and ginger, it was wonderful.

I received this mix for Christmas. The flavor was very good, but it turned out a bit thicker than I would've liked. I think next time I will add more broth and watch it more closely.

I made a half batch to test it before giving it as a gift and it is absolutely delicious.
I used red & green lentils. The only thing I would change next time is to put
more sun dried tomatoes in the soup because they are so incredibly delicious in this soup.

I loved the concept of making a homemade gift but thought I would need to try the soup before giving it as a gift. The soup was fantastic! I go to a neighborhood resturant that make the best lentil soup and this one gives it a run. I will be proud to give this as a gift the Christmas season. I am going to try the other options in the magazine as well. I love the magazine!
