Amazing cookies! I changed dried cranberries to dried diced apples, and changed walnuts to chopped almonds and pecans, plus I added about 1/2 cup sweetened dried coconut. I put 1/2 the fruit and nuts inside the cookie dough as per directions, and I omitted putting the other half on top of cookies, saving money, and they still turned out yummmmmmy.

I made these cookies last week when my husband and I both had really bad colds. At first taste, I wasn't in love, but my taste buds must have been out of whack that night because I've since fallen harder for them each time I've tasted one. There is a lot going on in these cookies with all their healthy ingredients but that is surely what makes them so good. Each time I bite into one I think they would make an excellent bread as well, since even in cookie form, they are almost bread-like in texture - soft and hearty.

Excellent cookies! Made them today, however feel the ratio of dried fruit is a bit overkill. Suggest cutting the raisins and cranberry back to 1 cup each... Overall they're delicious and would make a nice addition to holiday cookies...

I don't know if these will make me feel better, but they taste amazing!! The cranberry/nut/raisin mixture added as topping to the unbaked cookies offers an extra dimension of flavor as this topping gets toasted as the cookies bake. I had left this step off 1/2 the batch, but wished I hadn't after I tasted the cookies with that addition. I also added about 3/4 cup of white chocolate chips & would do it again, or try dark chocolate... Excellent & will definitely save this recipe for future use. Nice to make for ailing friends, too!

I highly doubt these will actually cure anything but they do have some good stuff in them and taste delicious. If I wake up well tomorrow I will attribute it these cookies and if not then at least I have a very good cookie recipe! Made them exactly as stated except I used dried apricots instead of cranberries since I had them on hand. They are very, very good. Spicy, cakey and homey. They sort of remind me of pumpkin bread minus the pumpkin and with the contribution of fruit. I guess it's the spiciness that reminds me of them. The lemon and fresh ginger are excellent additions!

These are wonderful cookies. Everyone loved them. We call them "Kung Fu" cookies cause they'll knock the flu right out of you. My family just wouldn't touch a cookie named Flue Fighter. LOL Kids! Sheesh!

These cookies are so moist and delicious. I ran out of yogurt so I substitued low fat sour cream - yum. My kids and husband loved them. I made an extra batch to keep in the freezer to have whenever we want a little treat. Will be a staple cookie in our house.

I made these for my boys and they loved them. So...much I make sure I have in stock the ingredients needed to make these at any time. They don't last too long around here...they are that good!

I loved these cookies. I had the flu and my daughter made them at the end of it. It did help.
I loved them just as they were. My one daughter doesn't like nuts so I am looking for what to put in instead or should I just leave them out.
