The ginger preserves were a bit difficult to find, but I prevailed! If you have a World Market in your area make a trip down the jam/jelly aisle. I did take a couple of the reviewer suggestions..bigger cookies and a little less cooking time. Crispy on the outside and chewy in the center...perfect! These are going out on my Christmas party buffet.

Spicy, soft, melt in your mouth ginger cookies. These were so good last year I've been dreaming about them the entire year and I have already been asked by relatives if I'll make them again. Absolutely yes!

Don't be turned off by the dry mustard or pepper and don't tell folks it's in there or else they won't want to try this wonderful ginger cookie. The ginger perserves also give a wonderful flavor. It's more chewy than the tradition hard gingersnap type cookie. It's a family favorite

I loved the flavor of these cookies, but mine came out very dark brown and looked burned but did not taste burned. They were too crispy, almost hard, and there was no tender inside. I chilled the dough and the formed balls as directed, and I used an oven thermometer, so the temperature was not the problem. I kept reduceing the baking time, with no improvement. Any suggestions?

These were great! I could not find giner preserves so I used fresh ground ginger, but I used about a 1/4 of what it called for. These turned out wonderful, and were gone in minutes.
This will be added to my yearly christmas favorites to make every year!!!

I loved this receipe. I could not find ginger preserves, so I took a chance and added about 1-2 more teaspoons of ground ginger to the recipe. The work involved to make this recipe was DEFINITELY worth it. This one is a keeper in my X-Mas cookie favorites. What's best is that it can be made anytime of the year!
