eight 8-ounce servings

  • 2 tablespoons green tea powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • Fine salt
  • 1 lemon, sliced into 1/4-inch rounds
  • 3 cups brewed green tea, chilled
  • 2 cups ginger beer
  • 2 cups IPA beer
  • 1 bunch fresh mint
  • 1 cup vodka
  • Mix the green tea powder, sugar, ginger and 1/4 teaspoon salt in a small shallow bowl.

  • Generously wipe the rims of 8 pint glasses with a lemon slice to moisten. Dip the rim of each glass into the prepared green tea powder mixture to coat. Set aside.

  • Pour the green tea into a pitcher. Holding the bottles at angle to avoid building a stiff head, slowly pour the ginger beer and IPA into the pitcher. Gently stir to combine.

  • Pick 12 large mint leaves and smack them against the palm of your hand to release their natural oils. Tear each leaf in half, then place about 3 pieces into each of the prepared glasses. Fill each glass with a small scoop of ice.

  • Divide the beer mixture evenly among the prepared glasses.

  • Float a 1-ounce shot (two tablespoons) of vodka over the beer mixture in each glass. Garnish with a lemon wheel and stem of fresh mint.
