This is a keeper recipe. I made it without the crust, just put it in a buttered shallow casserole and it was fabulous!!! Everyone at the get together LOVED it. I certainly will be making this on a regular basis this summer with fresh garden tomatoes.

Ambrosial, The crust is wonderful and really stands up to liquid. I think I will try other variations of this.

This recipe is a real keeper! I made it as an appetizer for a dinner party and it received rave reviews from everyone! I did make a few changes so I didn't have to make a trip to the store, 1/2 cup cornmeal, cheddar instead of manchego, Italian blend instead of the mozzarella, I caramelized the onions first, used the tomatoes from my garden and chopped fresh basil and a sprinkle of grated cheese when it came out of the oven. Soooo delicious and the best way to use all those lovely tomatoes from the garden!

Oh my, this recipe is good! The crust is amazing; don't use a regular crust for this one. The cornmeal and cheese are wonderful, and the tomatoes were delicious. Definitely a keeper!

I made this twice last year and it was such a hit!! I am not a veggie lover but this is great! I couldn't find my magazine so came to the site to find the recipe today! I will be making it this weekend.

I made this last year and LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it. Making it again today. I love the cornmeal crust. Have seen so many who used a store bought crust.... Take the time to make this crust... it is a lot of work, but worth it. The texture is amazing. Perfect recipe. Can't wait to have it tonight!

I usually play with recipes, but I made this exactly as written and it came out delicious. Made it for a party and got raves all 'round. Definitely a keeper, especially if you happen to grow heirlooms and have a bunch on hand that aren't perfect enough to serve raw.

I followed this recipe to the letter, and it was TO DIE FOR! It took me a while, as I am a bit of a methodical cook, but it was worth the extra time. DO NOT be tempted to substitute a plain pre-made pie crust here. The wonderful crunch of the cornmeal and yummy manchego play so well against the tomatoes. Oh wait, I did not follow to the letter, as I was unable to locate heirloom tomatoes. I just bought regular old tomatoes at the farmer's market, and they were delicious. Take the time to make the crust here, and you will be rewarded!
