Tried this recipe today to go with the football games. The basil was completely out of place and I will not be using it in future attempts. Out of sheer inattentiveness to the recipe I added the entire can of beans. There were still plenty of spinach and artichokes to fill out the base.
Changes I will try next time: use all 8 oz of the cream cheese package; add some lemon juice to brighten the flavors; add either or both jalapenos or Tabasco sauce for some kick.
Overall the proportions are good, the flavor is just a little flat. With that I'll keep at it as I like the concept of dumping the mayo in favor of the beans.

Love the beans. Adds a nice creaminess. Everyone loved it!!! Easy to throw together ahead of time and cook at the last minute.

Having made many spinach artichoke dips in 61 yrs, I was a little hesitant about the cannelli beans in this recipe. I shouldn't have worried!! This is a wonderful recipe just as is, but even better with a little lemon juice added. It is definately a keeper! I used basil from our garden but thought it needed more so I added a few sprinkles of dried basil.

Made this for both Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve and the only bad thing everyone had to say was that it took too much of their appetite away from the main course! It was gone in minutes. I made a big change by simply omitting the beans altogether, and adding some chopped shrimp instead. Delicious and fun to make.

I made this for Christmas Eve as one of my apps. It was a huge hit with my fiance's family. I added two cans of diced jalapenos to spice it up a bit. I think the fresh basil was completely lost, so next time I will omit that. It is a thicker dip and I think I will add more chicken stock next time. I also doubled the amount of artichoke hearts.

I liked the bean puree as a base, and I added jalapeno to give a little more kick.

Made this for Christmas Eve. It was very good. I liked the fact that it's healthier than the other spinach artichoke dips I've made. Next time I might add more chicken stock. However, because it was healthier, it stayed really thick. I would have liked it a little runnier so it would have been easier to get onto a cracker/chip.

I would rate this 10 stars if I could! I just came online to find this today after a friend made this for one of our Christmas parties! Have had the basic artichoke/spinach dip for year's and that's always popular and good...but this one...was like that, on steroids! Took it to a whole new level, and I think, without compromising what is so good in the original....ie. it tastes like you'd expect, just ramped up with more layered, complex and great flavor. I was surprised of the many artichoke dips on FN this one was not 5 stars too. The only thing I can think of possibly is the basil flavor, which I think is subtle & gives it great flavor, but if it's not what you'd like it's the only thing that really varies this from the normal ones. Anyway...this was a winner with everyone at our party...I will definitely be making this in the future!

Super creamy, fresh, and went fast! This was the second recipe I tried for Spinach dip, loved the bean addition. I will definitely continue trying more recipes, so the FN chefs do not disappoint, two thumbs up!

This was the most delicious artichoke spinach dip I've ever tasted, and my guests completely agree. I served it before Christmas dinner with several other appetizers, and it was completely consumed in 15 minutes! I plan to make it again for the New Year's Eve party!!
