I didn't think it was bland at all. I love semi sweet things so this was perfect for me. I even added less sugar than the recipe called for. I poured some skimmed milk on it after it was cooked and it tasted Devine! I will make this again and again and again.

For anyone dieting I substituted splenda. This way the chocolate dominates the flavor and puts an end to your craving for something sweet to eat. It was quick, easy and no tempting extras to eat. I liked it.

We loved that fact that it was the consistancy of a Pudding Cake but we too found it to be a bit bland. Now I add a pinch of salt and it's much better. One Mug feeds 2 people, we added a scoop of ice cream per serving, DELICIOUS!!!

With the reviewer's tweaking I will make it substituting splenda & sugar free pudding; my husband is a type A diabetic so it's perfect for his desert or a ladies luncheon. I don't tell my guests thngs are sugar free till they are finished eating.

I just got my food network magazine today, and I couldn't wait to make something out of it. I saw this recipe and thought that it would be interesting, so I made it! It was, well, rather bland. It was just ok, so I mixed in a little vanilla pudding, and it was great! I made it a second time, for my family and topped it with whipped cream, they loved it with the topping. this recipe was simple and tasty, but with a little tweeking, it was awesome! By the way, I am 15 :
