Ok, not so great. Needs more cocoa powder. And less cook time. Will try again tomorrow

What an easy and delicious dessert! I followed the suggestions of some reviewers and used 1/3 cup flour, 1/4 tsp baking powder, and melted butter instead of the oil. I divided the batter between 2 small coffee/tea cups and microwaved for about a minute. Topping with sweetened raspberries really set it off. I'll be making this again with chocolate chips mixed in.

You can't go wrong with these ingredients. I made mine with the same ingredients, different measurements:
3 T. unsweetened cocoa
4 T. sugar
1 T. flour
3 T. milk
3 T. veg. oil (canola
1 egg white
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1 T. chocolate chips
-------------------------------------------------------------
I poured it into a large Ramekin and microwaved for 1 1/2 minutes. Two minutes makes it too spongy/dry. 1 1/2 minutes makes it more moist. Topped with Cool Whip. My husband and six year old loved it. Yummmm! I love how quick it is to make.
Next time: I may substitute orange extract, coffee liquor (or instant coffee, or almond extract in place of the vanilla.
If someone can come up with a low cal version and remove the 3 Tablespoons of oil, that would be great!

I made the cake last night after reading a fabulous review of it in Food Network Magazine. I made the cake exactly as the recipe says, (except for I substituted the normal cocoa powder for a special dark cocoa powder from Hershey's but it came out spongy. Overall, it was pretty good for a microwave cake, but I would have cooked it for a little less time.

I made the mistake of making the cake exactly as it calls for. I should have read the reviews first (like I normally do...It was too dry and tasted like chalk...my husband actually laughed at me as I spit it out..will definitely try some of the other ideas to make it better...

Ok. Probably would've been better with chocolate chips.

I was hoping this would be a 1 serving size of Emeril's microwave chocolate cake. It's not. This is chewy and just barely good enough to kill my chocolate craving.... I will just have to try to 1/8th Emeril's recipe. (you all should try his! I have friends asking for that over regular brownies/cake sometimes

Super fast recipe really good. Be sure to mix thoroughly. Added melted chocolate and a few semisweet chocolate chips to the batter. It is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good. Will be enjoying this one many more times.

This was pretty good for a quick microwave cake. I took advice from one of the other reviewers and whipped my egg white separate and then folded it in. My cake did not come out dry, it was surprisingly moist. It was a little sweet for me, but then again I did use a sweeten creamer because I ran out of milk..lol.

Anyone that didnt like this over cooked it or something. This was so good I we could not believe it. We did throw a few chocolate chips in and it was like moulton heaven! Only need whip cream or ice cream and it is perfection FOR TWO! .
