Really good!! and actually it takes less than 10 minutes!... I used butter instead of the vegetable oil, add 1/4 of a teaspoon of baking soda, used 1 Tablespoon less of sugar and divided the batter in 2 ramekins... microwaved for 1:30 minutes each and the result was 2 spongy-muffin-like delicious dessert! This Recipe is a keeper!

Does an Instant Chocolate Cake in 2 minutes sound too good to be true? Well there is a saying that 'if it sounds too good to be true....beware! and this one of them. Spongy....rubbery....terrible. Take the extra 'minutes' and do a molten chocolate cake in the oven instead. The extra time and effort is worth it in the end results.

This is the perfect treat for a sweet tooth. Single (or double serving, hot and chocolaty. My teen and pre-teen love to make theirs on their own when they have a chocolate craving, and I can mix everything in a glass measuring cup and divide the recipe for my younger two. Just split batter between the 2 mugs and cook for 1 minute each - top with whipped topping, vanilla ice cream or cool whip - brings smiles on all their faces :

The first time I made this, it needed something...now when I make it I add a heaping tablespoon of mini chocolate chips. YUM! This is a fun thing to make on a cold night when you need a chocolate fix but don't have much time or energy...and it's enough for 2!

As is, I'd rate it a 3. But using this as a base and making several I've come up with a 5!
Like others I use 2 T melted butter instead of oil, 1/3 c flour and 1/4 t baking powder and 4 T sugar... then in place of milk I use 3 T chocolate stout and add 1 T Scharffen Berger Bittersweet Baking Chunks and 1 T pecans.. DELISH!
For all microwave cake recipes.. really watch them, as soon as they puff up they are done- cooking it until it looks "dry" on top will make it spongy.

Very disappointed. I was really looking forward to a quick, simple one person chocolate treat. Just didn't come close to what I was hoping for.
Is there such a thing as NO stars, because it does not deserve any!!

After reading all the reviews, I made this tonight. WOW, I loved it and so did my husband. I also did a little "tweaking" and put 1/2 tsp of cinnamon and also 1/2 tsp. of espresso powder. Also put 1 Tb. of sour cream in with the "wet". We ate it plain after dinner as a snack cake, but you could do SO much with this cake. Try a little drizzle of carmel sauce with a drizzle of choc. syrup with toasted pecans. Great little dessert when you find out company is coming and you have NO time.

Didn't like it, and if it has to have all the tweaks I read the others make, then too much trouble.I've tried other mug cake recipes that are much better and no tweaking!

Was ok. I followed the recipe except because we're a family of 7, I mixed everything up in a glass bowl and then put it each cup. I also added 3 (regular and almond kisses in the middle for a molten cake. It tasted ok, was a bit spongy and not very sweet. Kids loved it! :

I loved it. I substituted oil for butter and added Hershey's syrup for a molten-like cake. It was great!
