I hated it. And I was PMSing and really needing a quick chocolate fix. Not approved.

I read what harleyq333 said and I totally agree with her. It makes for a much taster cake. And yes - for those of us "choco-a-holics" of which I certainly am one - it's a quick and super good fix!!

This is a GREAT "fix" for a chocoholic, or for a quick comfort food. I added chocolate chips, and topped it with a small amount of Cool Whip. YUMM.

For a quick chocolate fix, this did the trick. Though I only used 2 T. sugar, 1/4 cup of Egg Beaters instead of an egg, and 1 T. oil instead of 3. (I was adding up all the fat, calories, and sugar in the original recipe and decided that I could not eat it that way. Nuked it for 2 minutes, and though it was a bit spongy and tough, it was pretty tasty.

Surprisingly good for a microwaved cake, but you will need to adjust the microwave time according to your microwave. Mine only took a minute and a half.

First time around I made this recipe as written and I had to agree with reviews that described it as gelatinous, spongy, and disappointing.
Made it the second time with review suggestions - butter instead of oil, 1/4 tsp baking powder, 1/3 cup flour instead of 1/4, and this time I mixed the egg and sugar first, then dry ingredients, then wet ingredients. Also only microwaved for 1:40 instead of 2:00.
Came out much better. It actually had a cake consistency and sufficient to curb a chocolate cake craving. I ate it with fresh berries on top and it was a pleasant last-minute dessert.
This is a very promising recipe for a no-frills quick fix but it definitely needs to be revised a lot.

I give this recipe 2 thumbs up!!! Super Quick and Super Easy!! Split the cake between 2-3 bowls with a scoop of ice cream and you've got...Delicioso!!! Great for that cocoa craving and totally beats the box of those preservative wrapped brownies!!

Delish!! I also added 1/8 t. baking powder & an extra Tbsp. sugar. My microwave had to cook for 3 minutes. Hit the spot.
