I thought this soup was delicious! I was surprised at the fat in ground pork so I made this with ground chicken - also omitted the parmesan rind. It is a hit at our house!!

I Loved the taste of this soup, with the revised versions of adding red pepper flakes, more garlic less sage, adding nutmeg and Cajun seasoning to meatball mixture, gave a little kick and loved the low sodium content.

This recipe has tons of potential. I hate to review based on my own changes but they make a world of difference here. I'd already planned on making this when I read the reviews and altered the recipe accordingly: I added a pinch of red pepper flakes to the oil as it was heating, then salted/(black peppered the vegetables as they were sauteing. I used 5 cups chicken broth to 1 cup water, and even then had to add bit of reduced sodium chicken bouillon towards the end. Used a bit less sage and a bit more garlic in the meatballs, in addition to salt, black pepper, and a bit of nutmeg. (Sounds weird, but trust me...yum! I also followed the advice of another reviewer and reduced the orzo to 1/2 cup. Next time I'll use a bit less, as the orzo absorbed a bit too much broth. All in all, we loved the final result and would give the revised version 5 stars.

I thought this recipe was good. However, i tweeked a few things. I used 6 cups of low sodium chicken broth instead if 3 (i didn't add any water. I didn't have a parmesan cheese rind so I just added parmesan cheese to my own dish before eating. Also, while the broth was cooking I added Mrs. Dash (garlic and herb, also some ground pepper. After reading the other reviews that the meatballs were bland, I used Italian seasoned "panko" bread crumbs, also seasoned the meatballs with salt, pepper and some mrs. dash. I only added in half the amt of orzo and about 5 oz of baby spinach. My boyfriend said this soup turned out great! He loved the meatballs!

Not sure I'd recommend this recipe as written. Broth ended up being pretty bland so I had to add 3 chicken boulian cubes. I'd recommend 6 cups of chicken broth instead of 3 and 3 cups of water. Meatballs were also bland. Really needed salt and pepper in them. I'd also recommend cutting down on the orzo by about half if you plan on saving some for leftovers. Orzo swelled and absorbed all of the liquid.

Really enjoyed this soup. Quick and easy to make after work. Reheated well for lunch the next day. I'm not a sage or pork fan so was concerned with both. No issues with either. Thought it had a great flavor.

This was one of the worst soups I've ever eaten. The broth and meatballs were very bland, even with the salt and pepper that I added on my own. The sage is overpowering and ends up being the only flavor that really pops. It was alot of work to make and definitely not worth the effort. I would not recommend this to anyone.

A nice soup, but I'm not crazy about the flavor of sage and this recipes really features the sage flavor. A very nice soup otherwise.
