I made these without the flower water since I don't like orange. They are to die for!!! They needed to cook maybe 3 minutes longer than stated in the recipe. I rolled them in powdered sugar after cooling about 5 minutes. They crumbled and flaked in my mouth. It makes about 2 dozen... better double the recipe.. it's too delicious for words!

These are the best! My husband can't keep his hands off of them. Thanks to the Lady who recommended using Grand Marnier, in place of the orange flower water. I used Triple Sec and they turned out great. Next batch I might use the orange flower water, which by the way they have at my local Central Market in Plano TX.

I did not have orange water, so I used Grand Marnier instead, just a touch. Not authentic but delicious. BTW to confused, the nuts go in together, read the recipe.

This is the best recipe I have found for Kourabiedes! The clove is optional.

These cookies are the best, the more powdered sugar the better!

It's common sense. We don't want to know what you THINK it may taste like.... we want people who have made the recipe and can tell us the pros and cons of preparation and the final result!! BTW, I gave this a five to counteract the one-star rating from the person who questioned the recipe, AND DIDN'T TRY IT!!

i've also had these as "mexican wedding cookies" with pecans, and they are quite good with an espresso or hot tea.

to the cook in alexandria, a simple web search would have yielded some results (generally a middle eastern shop or specialty foods shop should have it, or you can buy it online":

"You can find orange blossom water and rose water as well as other items at 3 places I know of in No. VA:

1 Mediterranean Bakery in Alexandria in the same complex as the Home Depot over, I think, in Del Mar.
2 Al Nakheel in Vienna in the Jade shopping center on Maple Ave. near the Amphora diner
3 Ali Baba bakery on Mill Street in Vienna"
