I saw no shortbread recipe, just instructions to use dough. What shortbread recipe is recommended? Kind of cheating to call this a recipe, no? Cannot really give it a rating as is.

If you like shortbread and you like the flavor of lemon, you can't go wrong with these. I tasted the shortbread without the lemon glaze and it is good, but has no real lemon flavor, in spite of the zest that was added to the dough. But, it is a good base and some might say an excuse to eat the lemon glaze! The glaze is potent, being made from just powdered sugar and lemon juice and zest. It sets up nicely as well. Overall I would make these again if I had a hankering for the taste of lemon. These would also be good for a bake sale. Very easy to make. Dough is ready in five minutes to bake if you don't bother chilling it before baking. The longest part is the baking time and waiting for them to cool. But plan ahead and they are almost effortless.
