I'm not a fan of soda, so I was very eager to try this cola free version of a Long Island.

As long as the quality is good, I do like vodka and rum on their own without any mixers. Even though I used good quality booze the combination was not very good. There is nothing but booze in this drink (and a little sugar. It definitely needs something else to take the edge off.

I actually made a pot of green tea and then added all the ingredients to it. This made it a bit more bearable for me and my guests. I won't be repeating the recipe, though!

I used dried candied hibiscus flowers from Trader Joes as the edible flower- this was a good idea!

This was excellent. Made it using Numi's Gunpowder green tea and everyone wanted more. It didn't matter if I made it with simple sugar or splenda. This is definitely a keeper!

There is a reason why Coke is used in a traditional long island ice tea: to mask the flavor of ingredients that should never otherwise go together. Since this recipe is Coke free, it is awful. This is a waste of good booze.

I impressed my guests with my green tea infused vodka...what a great idea. Great drink for summertime. Not sweet at all.
