I have tried something close to that with banana in it and it was GOOD!

At least as good as any lassi I've had at an Indian restaurant. The spiced simple sugar really makes it -- the spices are subtle, but perfect. I used frozen mangoes from Trader Joe's, which makes it a snap to make, and it turns out kind of thick like a milkshake, too. I suppose to thin it you might add some milk.
