This is great if you watched the show, but the recipe here does not say when to include the Triple Sec, (orange liquor. Just put it in the shaker or you can float it in & stir. Also, forget the sugar on the rim, that is NOT a REAL Margarita! The salt is the intended flavor mix with the lime & tequila, & serve on the rocks, not blended. Also, while I enloy a good quality tequilia with this, it is NOT that important, as it will still taste great with a economical tequila. Your mixing things here, so I prefer to save my high $ stuff for sipping or shots. Here I mean Don Juilo, Patron, or the other wonderful aged blue aguave products. You shouldn't waste those in a margarita, sipping only there!

This is the perfect margarita. Use a good tequila. Will never use store bought mix again.

When I first saw the amount of alcohol in this recipe I was concerned. It was for a party so I bought a bottle of margarita mix (just in case. This recipe was outstanding. Not too strong and the lime-sugar-salt mix was great. I would make sure to get the lime grated pretty finely otherwise you'll be eating chucks of it.

Excellent but be sure to use a good quality white tequila and orange liqueur.

Personally, I like more salt than sugar in the rim mix. The recipe proportions are perfect though!!

the lime-sugar-salt is the best part! try using microplane grater or whatnot to make the zest as fine as possible.
