As a previous reviewer noted, this recipe poses a high risk of botulism, a deadly form of food poisoning. Just Google "garlic in oil" to see. Not only do you need to keep this constantly refrigerated from preparation to consumption, you also should keep it for no more than one week in the fridge, not the two weeks stated here. Food Network should pull this recipe.

Although these made a nice-looking gift for the holidays, I was disappointed with the taste. I found it cheaper to buy the bocconcini already marinated and the marinade penetrates the cheese better than this recipe did -- at least for me. But it did look nice!

I'm embarrased that I gave these as gifts this Christmas. It looks very earthy and quaint, but the taste is a big dud. Like others, mine got cloudy and solidified and looked horrible. I let them warm up and gave them out to guests on Christmas Eve. They taste like almost nothing. Quite an expensive lesson to learn, I paid $18 for the olive oil alone!

Made this for my boyfriend. I made them 4 days ahead of time, and stored them in my fridge as directed. Totally solidified. Perhaps I should have lowered the temp on the fridge? Anyhow, as a result, the flavors didn't blend and there the cheese remained bland.

Although I normally love the flavors combined in this recipe, this was very bland. The presentation was lovely, but I would add sun-dried tomatoes to the marinade for more spice and color if I were ever to make this again, which probably will not happen.
