Directions
Cut 1 pound refrigerated pizza dough into 1-inch pieces. Roll into balls. Deep-fry in 350 degrees F vegetable oil, turning as needed, until golden, about 5 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Sprinkle generously with confectioners' sugar.

In Rhode Island we filled the Zeppoles with riccotta cheese filling and top with whipped cream . You only get around 3-19or St Joseph Day.

I tried this recipe last year for a party. And while I was making them I didnt really like the taste. So instead of powedered sugar on it I put the Zeppoles in a bag of cinnanmon sugar after they were done frying. Everyone loved them and they were delicious!
