Excellent recipe. Can modify by using part h2O & part chicken stock to add a greater depth of flavor. You can also chop the parsley & add it to the soup for added color. Chopped (leftovercooked ham or bacon can be substitued for the ham hocks. Finally, make it real "US Senate Navy Bean Soup" by adding 1-2 cups leftover mashed potatoes at the end, right before serving the soup.
