Ingredients
- 1/2 orange, cut into 3 wedges
- 1/2 lime, cut into 3 wedges
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 or 2 sprigs fresh mint
- 2 1/2 ounces white rum
- 1 cup crushed ice
Directions
Put the oranges, limes, sugar, and mint in a large rocks glass. Muddle the leaves and citrus by pressing them with a pestle or a wooden spoon until juicy and fragrant. Add the rum and ice. Cover with a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously, or stir, until combined and chilled, about 30 seconds. (In general, by the time the shaker mists up the drink is ready.) Serve.

I needed to use up some mint I had on hand, but I am pretty picky as to what I will eat with mint in it. Tried this recipe, except I used half white rum, half pineapple rum and it was soo delicious. I will make this again and again. Very refreshing and tasty, and a great twist to the standard mojito.

Came home after a 90 plus degree day. Not ready for wine.......had lots of rum left over from a 4th of July party. I used citrus rum and only half of the recommended orange and lime (I like to taste the rum.................so very, very, very good and refreshing. I strongly recommend this. Not too sweet, not to sour, but just right on a hot day!!!!! Fabulous. Making for my friends!
