This chicken was a big disappointment. My family and I didn't like it at all. We didn't think it had much flavor at all. It was moist, crispy and juicy, but the flavor wasn't good. The thyme was overpowering. I don't know if you baked the chicken directly on the baking sheet and skipped the racks if it would have had more flavor from the juices that dripped down. I just didn't like it at all and will not make it again.

This is the best oven fried chicken ever. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Will be making this again and again.

Made this chicken tonight using just thigh pieces and it was delicious. I followed the recipe exactly and did manage to find fresh thyme at the grocery store. Everyone loved it! Just like the other reviewers noted, the chicken is crispy on the outside and very juicy on the inside.
I am still getting used to my oven and as a result, 55 minutes at 400 degrees wasn't quite long enough for the chicken thighs, so when I make it again (which I will be doing! I will leave them in a bit longer.

This recipe was SOOOO delicious! The buttermilk marinade made the chicken super juicy and the panko and spice coating was fantastically delicious! Loved every minute of it! Made Rhea's sweet potato casserole dish with it and some sauteed zucchini. All around great meal!

This recipe was quite good and I agree the buttermilk and seasonings in the 'chicken bath' really add to the flavor. It's a bit messy as most of the panko falls off the chicken.

Our whole family loved this recipe. We've made other oven fried chicken recipes before and were disappointed, but this one was terrific. The panko made the crust crunchy and the buttermilk made the chicken moist and added a really nice tang. We had it with Marcela Valladolid's corn and mashed potato recipe. It was awesome. We will definitely have this again.

My husband and kids LOVED this oven-fried chicken. It tasted much better than the real fried chicken I tried to make recently. I used half panko and half crushed cornflakes. The coating was very crunchy and the chicken inside very moist. I marinated it for 24 hours. I used dried thyme in place of fresh. Served with home fries and roasted asparagus. My husband and kids fought over the leftover chicken.

I made this last night for my husband, who is a notoriously picky eater, and he loved it! I substituted dried thyme for the fresh since I didn't have any on-hand. The legs & wings needed 50 minutes in a 375 convection oven; the breasts took a little longer (1 hour. Crispy and very flavorful! I will definitely make this again.
