I can't believe how good this was. I couldn't use my grill and had t-bones ready to go. Tried this recipe and will never cook a t-bone on the grill again. Used one of Bobby Flay's dry rubs and followed cooking instructions and OMG!!! gooodness in minutes. I do agree it was a bit smoky in the kitchen my exhaust fan wasn't working but was well worth the smokyness. My husband, guests and I loved this. I can't say enough about the flavor, tendererness and all over yummyness of this steak. I give this and 11 on a scale of 1 to 10

If you absolutely must cook a steak without grilling it, I suppose this recipe will suffice. There are a few warnings I need to give before you try this though. First, unless you have a very good ventillation fan above your stove, you will fill the house with smoke if you follow the recipe exactly. I would recommend NOT heating the skillet on high until the oil smokes, heat it to medium instead. Even if you heat the skillet to medium heat, then transfer to the oven for only 6 minutes, your steak will be well done. All in all, I thought this recipe wasted a pretty good cut of steak. I would only do it again if it was impossible to grill the steak.

This recipe really is fool-proof. I don't eat steak, but made the recipe for relatives on football Sunday and they loved it. If things tend to burn when you cook, you can't go wrong with a recipe where you're supposed to see smoke!! And boy did these steaks smoke when browning them on the stove top. However, once I put them in the oven, the crust seemed to soften a little bit. Letting the steaks sit before cutting into them definitely helped to seal in the juices; I covered them with foil while resting to keep them warm.

A couple month back I wanted to make a nice dinner for my me and my Fiance as an alternative to going out, so i searched T-Bone recipes and found this one and am i glad i did. I was nervous about making the steaks since I had never cooked T-Bones before and normally dont cook steak in general. But they turned out GREAT. So I decided i was going to make them again, but this time i changed the recipe just a bit, My fiance loves garlic powder so i sprinkled some on his and im a fan of Crushed Peppercorn, so i put that on mine as well as the salt and pepper on both. The steaks we AMAZING. I make them every once in a while now and am actually making them tonight. This is the simplest yet most delicious recipe out there!!!!

The steak came out very tender and had a lot of flavor. Follow this simple recipe and you can't go wrong.
