This was my first attempt at making macaroons so I wasn't really expecting full-blown success. However, I was also not expecting to only get half as many cookies as the recipe says, and they ran all over the place to create deformed macaroons. They still tasted good but it was not worth the effort.

Wow, was it really that easy to make macarons? Delicious! If you have always wanted to try it, but too scared. Then this is the recipe for you. I bought almond flour to save a step. I also used a ziploc with a hole! Worked like a charm. I also heard from a friend to put a wooden spoon in the oven door for just a crack to let steam out. They turned out great.

Macaroons are easier to make than I thought! The nutty taste of the cookies paired great with the sweet jam (I used strawberry.
I chopped up almonds in the food processor instead of using almond flour. I also just used a ziplock plastic bag and cut a hole in the bottom corner instead of using a pastry bag. I can't wait to make more macaroon sandwhiches with different flavors and fillings. Chocolate macaroons with peanut butter in the center I imagine would be really good to try!
