This is my new favorite applesauce! So easy and I love the tart flavor. My husband loves it on toast. I love it warm and just love the taste and texture. I don't have a rice cooker so I make it in my crockpot. Takes a little over an hour. I used two cinnamon sticks the first time I made it and it was too much. The second time, I used just one and it was perfect! So much less expensive to make than it is to buy in the store and the texture is so much better than store bought. YUM!

Love it! I added nutmeg and cloves and less sugar because I prefer the spice and the tart of the apples. I do not have a rice cooker, so I simply baked the apples and plums covered at 350 for about one hour, then mashed them, and the sauce turned out perfectly.

I made four recipes for applesauce this fall, and this turned out to be my husband's favorite - and he doesnt even like plums! Beautiful color, too! Also made Ina Garten's "Homemade Applesauce" - delicious; the Strawberry applesauce - food network recipe; and the Alton Brown one with honey. All good - but this one was really special!
