Agree with "the pork was good but the rice and beans were great." The only thing I did differently was add a few dashes of some extra spices, paprika, chili powder, etc. Great dish

This is a Puerto Rican staple for dinner and its wrong in so many ways in this recipe and picture. I am saddened to see typical, delicious dishes scrutinized to such poor levels. There is nothing instant about Puerto Rican rice and beans. There is so much more involved in flavor, and condiments not to mention presentation. Sad, Sad.

We loved this! easy and so tasty. I used instant rice and it came out just fine, not sticky or anything.

I was inspired by this picture/recipe. I took all of the ingredients, minus the pork and apple cider vinegar, and made a delicious enchiladas. I used flower tortillas, some already cooked shredded steak, combined with extra-virgin olive oil, green bell pepper, onion, garlic, ground cumin, salt and freshly ground pepper, tomato sauce, white rice, can black beans (not drained or rinsed and fresh corn, topped with a bunch o'cheese. All baked together in the oven. Yum!

Enjoyed this recipe very much. Reminded me of the Cuban food I was so fond of growing up in Florida. My husband was very pleased with this dish. I served this with a side of roasted asparagus, which did well with the dish. I did use center cut boneless pork chops that were a little over an inch thick. So I broiled them about 8 minutes per side, turning them over once. The beans and rice were very flavorful with the soffrito (garlic, onion, bell pepper and tomato sauce, a Cuban staple starter to a recipe. I definitely will make this recipe again.

I was surprised how tasty the rice turned out. I'm afraid of my broiler so I opted for cooking my chops in a pan. Grilling would probably be even better. I'll never buy the boxed rice and beans again! I served mine with a dollop of sour cream. Good stuff
