I made this for one of my work's girls' night parties and everyone loved it! I put the cooked onions in the food processor to chop them up more, but it was deelicious!

The mayo over-powered the flavor of the dip and the onion was over whelming. The dip was so thick and strong that we waited until the next day to have it and mixed 1 or 2 tablespoons of the hardened onion concentrate into 1/2 cup of sour cream to thin out the texture anad the flavor.

I made this recipe for a party, and everyone raved - they were putting on veggies as well as the potato chips that I brought.
It was pretty easy, albeit a bit time-consuming, because of the roasting and cooling fo the onions.
I used low fat mayo and sour cream, and no one even noticed.

It was very good, but I think next time I'll use less mayo and more sour cream. It's good with crunchy potato chips. It makes a very big batch.

This was very good, but time consuming so you might think to make it ahead. The flavors have it all beat over dry onion soup mix. Worth the effort for company.
