Found the directions difficult to understand and the dough was sooo hard to work with. Even after refrigerated.

These cookies are not hard to make and worth the extra time to do either ribbon or swirl. I do both except that I don't like mint so exchanged it for Almond extract! A big hit at Christmas time. They have joined our Christmas cookie list.

well these cookies have a minty taste...so if you dont like mint stay away. i found that making the dough was easy. alot of people say there dough crumbled well when i made it it was great but after i refrigerated it was very hard to roll for the swirl ones. so i reccomend you do the ribbon ones...there alot easier. o and if you have alot of dough left over after you trim it into rectangles ball it up and roll into a cylinder and then slice and bake....this way you have no extra dough. overall i think they took to long to make and really didnt have that great of a taste and i didnt like the texture.

This cookie took so... much time and effort to put together. The recipes were simple enough to put together, but the steps after that took way... too long! The cookies' taste was good but the texture was just so so. It was truly to crumbly to give out as gifts... I was disappointed in the results and would not make this cookie again.

I thought these cookies tasted pretty good though I substituted almond extract for mint. The one thing about them is they take a lot of work. they aren't something just to "whip up". The dough is really sticky so i used a lot of flour when i rolled them out to help with sticking and to shape it better. Getting those rectangles are hard. They turned out looking very good.

I used to get these cookies from the bakery in the Pike Place Market in Seattle and they don't make them anymore, last I heard. So I went ahead and tried them myself and they were perfect! I did substitute the mint extract for almond extract though.

The dough was a bit sticky but worked well rolling it out with parchment paper. I am not an expert cookie maker but I was able to pull this one off. They are stunning to look at too! As long as when you roll them into the log, you use the paper as a tool to roll it along. I gave it a bit of a pat down with my hands when rolled so that any loose pieces got molded back in.

This has replaced one of my annual christmas cookie recipes and will make it for years to come. They are pretty, fairly easy (easier than cut out cookies with all the cutting and rolling and decorating! and not too sweet. Just perfect! Give it a try!

They are a bit a work but I find that they are worth every minute. When I first made them I thought that they needed something more so I melted some dark chocolate and I dipped half in it. It is an amazing cookie now and I look forward to making it every year.
