I'm giving this 5 stars for one reason only: that mushroom ragout is to die for! It was great with the tenderloin and over mashed potatoes, but I've also served it with pork, chicken...just potatoes and I can eat it by itself. Food of the gods, I tell you.

I made this entire recipe for a dinner party the other night. My guests couldn't eat enough! I used the herbs de provence on the tenderloin. It added a beautiful and subtle flavor to the tenderloin. As for the mushroom ragout, I used the madeira wine. This was absolutely delicious! The entire meal was very gourmet, yet very easy to prepare. I will be making this again!

The mushroom ragout is out of this world and a wonderful compliment to the tenderloin.

The roast was delicious & perfectly medium rare and the mushrooms were fantastic! I used a combo of chicken stock & sherry (1/4 cup of eachas I was out of vermouth, added minced garlic w/the shallots, and tossed some fresh chopped parsley in at the end. My boyfriend said they were the best mushrooms I had ever made, he loved the sauce so much that he entirely ignored the horseradish sauce he usually loves w/roast beef. So good and such an easy recipe, I will be making this again and again! Thanks for the great recipe!

I tried this recipe because it was raining outside and we typically grill our tenderloins. However, I will use this recipe from now on. I used the juices from the roast and it made the ragout even more delicious! Big hit with the family! Thanks Food Network!!!

I did not try the tenderloin, but I made the mushrooms with a rack of lamb --OUTSTANDING!! I am making the mushrooms for Christmas dinner. Can't wait to share this great recipe with my family.
