I liked this and would make it again but it was WAY too salty. I liked the giardiniera but would not use as much as the recipe called for. I would also reduce the amount of provolone cheese and salami. As it was, the calzone was overstuffed. I think with a little tweaking it could be a great recipe.

I substituted mushrooms, spinach and onions for the giardiniera. I also added canadian bacon, sausage and tons of different cheeses. Make sure not to forget sauce for dunking! So easy and my kids loved it!

I made it for my co-workers they loved it. I made it with my own twist to it. I added some of my own items and it was yummy. Thanks food network for this wonderful recipe. :~

Terrible!!! I make food network recipes weekly and this one was the first one so far. None of us ate it and I threw the rest away. I don't understand why this recipe called for the lemon zest. I could not get past the lemon flavor. I liked the giurdiniera though. I have been putting it in salads. Sometimes it can be a little salty though.

I'm making this for the second time! My husband and I ate half and I sent the other half home with my daughter and her husband. We all loved it so much that I've begun making my own giardiniera (much cheaper!and using that instead of buyiing it.

It was good but not the best thing ever. Prop won't make it again. I don't understand the lemon zest. I didn't bother me but I didn't get it. The pickled veggies were okay but didn't do anything for me. Not awful but not a keeper either.

My first attempt at a calzone, and it was pretty good. I did reduce the giadiniera for banana peppers and used only a few diced pieces since it's super salty. I also felt the lemon was out of place. The meats and cheeses made it a bit too oily for me in the end, also. Oil was puddling everywhere, but otherwise you can't go wrong with a calzone! Next time I'll use less meat and cheese and add some veggies like spinach and mushrooms to make it more filling.

I've only made one calzone before attempting this one, and it didn't turn out well, despite the ingredients used. So after reading the other reviews, I opted out of using giardiniera and substituted sweet red bell peppers with a couple tablespoons of champagne vinagrette. So delicious!! Complimented with a side of marinara, you can't go wrong.
