This was a great recipe. After reading the previous reviews I used the MacIntosh apples, and fat free chicken broth instead of water. It was delicious cooked in the turkey or without. I did both. I passed it to my sister and she had rave review also. The Holiday Sweet Potatoes from last year did not return this year and that recipe was also great. I had many compliments and recipe wanters also.

I made this yesterday for my Thanksgiving dinner. I wanted to try a new recipe, something savory. And boy oh boy was this the winning recipe! Everyone loved it and I will definitely keep this recipe as my dressing of choice. I used the MacIntosh apples, but will try granny smith next time.

Normally, I hate stuffing...they all taste the same. But this...THIS is soooo good! My whole family (including grandpa, who normally makes his own stuffing, and doesn't vary loved it. All the flavors blended so well together, and combined with the turkey, it was absolutely marvelous. The recipe doesn't say what kind of apples to use, but I used Gala, and it worked great. Too bad I didn't make a double recipe;

I made the stuffing with the Macintosh apples and it came out great. I may experiment with Granny Smith's during the year.

I have made this recipe every year for the past three years. It is now a family tradition. I have 15 for dinner so I double the recipe. Really YUMMY!

I made this for thanksgiving last year, and it has become one of my signature dishes. May be a little dry, so use extra butter/water. Also, Macintosh apples are the perfect choice for this recipe.
