Absolutely amazing! Very easy to make, ingredients are easy to find and the spices you probably already have in your pantry. I used collard greens instead of kale. I also substituted one cup of water for chicken stock to add flavor. Definitely going to make again!

This was delicious. It is only receiving 4 stars because that is what my husband rated it against all other stews :. I took the advice of previous reviews and substituted vegetable stock and beef flavored broth for the water, because that is what I had open in the fridge. I also used canned diced tomatoes with green chiles. I also cooked for longer than suggested before adding the shrimp. I like potatoes a lot softer and the kale held up well to the longer cooking. I am looking forward to eating leftovers. Husband thought it would pair well with cornbread and I have to agree.

Fantastic! Easy to make, and, like most soups, was just outstanding the following day. Husband wouldn't stop raving. In fact, if anyone was nearby, I'm sure they would have said "I'll have what he's eating!" This is definitely a keeper!

I never make noise while I eat, but while consuming this stew I Moaned. It was that fantastic. The flavors compliment one another in ways that I could never imagine. TRY THIS!

My boyfriend and I made this together and loved it. It was a little more time and labor intensive than we expected, but it was so worth the effort. The flavors were phenomenal. Might add barley next time for a little more heartiness. Will definitely be making this again!

What an awesome stew! I just made it, and it came out wonderfully! The flavors of the onions, garlic, bay leaves, thyme, chorizo, and shrimp work beautifully together. I have to confess, however, that a rich base really made the difference, in terms of helping the flavors. After reading the reviews below, I decided to use 2 cups of reduced sodium chicken broth, in lieu of the 2 cups of water originally. I also added a 2tspns (more or lessof crushed red pepper, just to give the soup a bit of a kick. Otherwise, I followed the directions exactly as they were written.
I definitely will make this again!

This was delicious. I pretty much kept the recipe as is except for the additional chicken broth and red pepper like the reviewer below suggested. I would definately put this in my permanent file.
