A much easier way - just add 3/4 to 1 cup of sugar to the warm pitcher of tea. Making simple syrup is fine if you are sweetening just one glass but too much work for a pitcher.

Like everyone else I keep this in the frig all summer. When I'm eating out If the restaurant doesn't have sweet tea, I get the folks to put about 2" of lemonade in the bottom of a glass then fill with unsweentened tea .

Just a thought, do we really need a recipe for simple syrup?
Anyway, despite it's simplicity, simple syrup is very easy to make in large portions, and handy to have in the kitchen. I always keep a container of it in the Summer to sweeten iced tea as I almost always find myself endlessly stirring my tea, trying to get the sugar to dissolve.

So simple and easy to sweeten tea. I keep mine in one of those clear ketchup style bottles.

This recipe is such a good idea for sweetening tea. It really cuts the hassle out of sweetening cold tea and allows for each guest to have tea at their own sweet preference.

It is even better if you boil it with sliced lemon in it.

Easy and does sweeten up a variety of things without using tons of sugar.
