The bean portion of this is now my go-to for a bean dip--so easy and so much better than the stuff from the can! I will sometimes add browned Mexican chorizo with the beans to make it nice and meaty. The great flavor of the chorizo really kicks up the dip.

Good recipe. As a personal chef, I often add a layer of sauteed onion and ground beef (or turkey, mixed with taco seasoning and a finely chopped Serrano pepper for a little heat. And I usually mix together fresh diced plumb tomatoes with salsa. A garnish of sliced black olives makes a nice presentation as well. There is no wrong way to make this dip. It's delicious, and always a hit, especially with hot sauce on the side.

My husband and I both thought this turned out really bland. I really wanted to love it because the reviews were so good. If I were to make this again, I would double the spices. It tasted much better when I added a lot more sea salt and tons of lime juice to it. I did love the idea of using Greek Yogurt instead of sour cream. I think I'll try Ellie Krieger's recipe for this next time.

Excellent recipe! I never have leftovers when it comes to this dish and the taste is so fresh and delicious that I refuse to use any other bean dip recipe. Just make sure you use the Greek yogurt even though it says you may use regular non-fat. Springing for the Greek yogurt ensures that layer is not runny.

Amazing!! Made this for a few friends and it was gone within hours! I did go a little light on the salt, since the cheese and beans already have salt. Even though it took about an hour to prepare, I don't think I can go back to store bought 7 layer dip. Homemade is so much fresher and healthier!

Love this dip! We make it at least once or twice during football season. And it's actually pretty healthy ingredients over all. The flavors are so nice all together and the beans make it filling.

I have made the dip several times for parties and it is always a favorite. The time it takes to make this dip in much longer than stated. Allow yourself at least an hour. I add a little more water to the beans to make it a little creamier and easy to dip into! Thanks Food Network for the great recipe!
