Great recipe. Tasty and easy. Why open a can when you can make these? Thank you Network Kitchen Chefs!

Ten minutes before it's done cooking, I add 1/2 to 1 cup of diced celery. It adds a lot of flavor and a little crunch. For those complaining about it being too watery, remember - the water content of tomato sauce varies by brand, and a canned sauce will almost always be more watery. Just cook it a bit longer.

Great flavor but not as thick as I would like it to be. Should have read the reviews first though to go easy on the water (not really needed. Uncovered for the last five minutes of simmering because it didn't seem to be thickening up for me. Used ground turkey and added some liquid smoke to give it a little zing. Kids loved it.

Fantastic! This will be a regular dinner at my house from now on! I listened to the advice of other reviews and did not add in the water. The result was great and this taste nothing like the stuff you get in a can. I could never go back to the store bought SJs after eating this. Thanks Food Network!

My family loves this recipe. The only adjustment I make is to switch bbq sauce for the tomato sauce to give it a little more zing.

no one liked it. I liked a lot of your recipes but you need to scrap this and start over.

why do I listen tp you guys! I assume youre recipes are better than mine. NOT!!!
Every time - EVERY TIME I try one of your complicated, recipes, usually calling for some expensive ingredient, I end up embarrased, realize I should have trusted my old stand-bys. For instance, I recently read the raving reviews and tried Alton's Sloppy Joes. Bad idea. My recipe is a throw-together and always a success. For quantities, use "some". Brown 'some' chopped onion and maybe a little garlic in a little EVOO. add ground round. After browning, add some tomatoe sauce some paste, some brown sugar, some mustard, maybe a little water. simmer. If you want to zap it up ad a few drops of liquid smoke or maybe something hot like pepper flakes or hot sauce. Not hard. Not expensive. Not complicated.
I made somebody's idea of delicious strogonoff to impess ny daughter in law. everbdy ate JUST the noodles. I should have trusued mt old recipe.
