I was a little apprehensive with some of the ingredients that I've never seen in a chili before but the results where fantastic.
My family loved it and it even made good leftovers.
I made a couple alterations: rather than onion powder and granulated garlic used a diced onion and four cloves of minced garlic. I also cut the chili pepper added in at the end in half as the family found it spicy enough without it.

This is by far my favorite chili recipe. I get so many complements every time I make it for family and/or guests. And it's ALWAYS better the next day. A couple of alterations I make to the recipe:
1. brown the chicken before adding to the crock pot (I just like to know the meat I'm eating is cooked thoroughly
2. saute onions with the meat in lieu of the onion powder.
3. add a couple of diced poblano peppers. Adds good flavour, texture & beautiful color alongside the sweet potato.
4. garnish with a touch of chopped cilantro
Makes a FANTASTIC chili everytime!

loved this chili, but it overflowed my crock pot. next time, i'll use less of the diced tomatoes. i like more beans to tomatoes anyway.

Made this the other night for a small gathering and everyone loved it. Many of my guest ate seconds even thirds. The only thing I did different was I add 1 small can of tomato paste. Huge crowd pleaser !!!!

This recipe is absolutely delicious! However, I made the following changes:
Browned the chicken before putting it into the crock pot
Sauted onions with the the chicken in lieu of onion powder
I didn't include Tapioca or Beer because I didn't have it on-hand but I would imagine it would only make this better!
I also added a little flour to thicken it up but it thickened nicely on its own after it was in the fridge over night.
I would definitely recommend this dish!

The long list of ingredients put me off a little bit, but the outcome was really good. It's nice that it can just simmer away all day while you're doing something else! I followed other's advice and cooked the chicken first, and I didn't have tapioca, so I skipped that, but did everything else as recommended! My husband was very impressed.

I've made this 3 times and will be making it again in the future. Unique flavors. Turkey works well when I can't find ground chicken.
