This is hands down the best chili recipe ever! What's also great is that you dont have to do any pre-cooking. Perfect in every way. After spooning into bowls, top with some chopped scallions and cilantro. Delish!

I cubed the chicken instead of using the ground chicken which made the stew heartier. I added the chili powder at the end because I've found that it tends to turn a little bitter when cooked for long periods of time. It tasted great! Not just plain old chili- I could taste all of the different flavors sifting around which made the whole experience much more complex. It was quite the culinary experience. I also added another chipotle to give it more heat which I loved.

This recipe was just okay. The ground chicken came apart after 6 hours in my slow cooker and dissolved into very small pieces that gave it a weird texture. The spice combination was pretty goodith the cumin, etc. I would also throw in a few veggies next time at the end such as peppers, etc. Would try again with another, more substantial meat I guess.

I left out the tapioca and the beer, and made this with ground beef instead of ground chicken. I cooked the beef before adding it to the crockpot. Other than those changes, I followed this recipe to a tee and it came out delicious. The shredded sweet potato adds a hint of sweetness and the starch from it thickens the chili very nicely. I've tried numerous chili recipes but this is definitely the one I will be making from now on.

I also don't like the idea of adding the raw chicken to the crock pot. I've tried both ways and have come to the conclusion that ground chicken just isn't a sturdy meat, especially to cook for 6 hours! I've now adapted this recipe with 2 lbs ground chicken in the pot (uncooked then 1 lb of chicken breast tenders, grilled, then cut into small pieces after the chili is done. I add more cumin (1tsp 3/4 cup of dog fish pumpkin ale (good spices for this chili are in the beer! And it comes out great. Nice flavors, a little spicier if you add the chili powder at the end. I only used 2 chipotle chilies and didn't find it to be on the hot side till I added more chili powder. Make mini corn muffins and you've got a perfect dinner for a fall or winter evening! Freezes great too!

The chili has been in the crockpot on low for 6 hours and I couldn't wait any longer. Excellent recipe and very easy. Although I did not have a sweet potatoe or beer, so I just proceeded with the recipe minus those two ingredients. I don't know how anyone would have an issue of too watery. Maybe you forgot to drain and rinse the beans. I will definately make this again.

This recipe was HUGE hit! The sweet potatoes add a nice touch of flavor, as do the chipotle peppers in adobe sauce...all go together very nicely! This is now my new favorite chilli. I don't think I will be going back to basic chili anytime soon. This does it for me. FYI if you would rather brown the chicken and then add to a Ducth oven and throw in the oven. It is absolutely delish and ready in about 45 minutes!

I have made this chili at least four times. I have always used uncooked ground turkey and black beans. I actually found that I had to add more stock because mine was too heavy. It is better cooked on low, I made the mistake of high once and it was not the same flavors. I have never had an issue with an uncooked or undercooked ingredients. My family loves it, it is a keeper!

This Chili is AMAZING like all the reviews say but make sure you read them and modify the recipe first.
I browned the ground turkey ( I bought 1 lb at Whole foods and had to go to Krogers to buy another pound since I didn't have what the recipe called for
I cooked the onion and garlic before I added them to the soup as well.
I don't think the soup is too runny if you like it really soupy ( say like a vegetable soup but I like my chili thick so next time I would add half the can of chicken broth ( the tomatoes have juice in them as well
I used 2 chipolte chilis (found in the mexican food isle and I did not find it too spicy.
I omitted the beer at then end since i didn't want to make it any runnier.
Other than that i used what the recipe called for and even added a little extra cinnamon.
For my sweet potatoIi used my cheese grater to shred it and I did not find the pieces too hard like others had but next time I might try bigger pieces.
For those of you having a hard time finding tapioca I had to look for about 5 minutes for it before I found it. They are not talking about an instant tapoica pudding mix you add milk to. At Krogers it was on the bottom shelf under all the snack packs and instant pudding mixes. It is in a box similar to what you would find if you were buying cream of wheat.
The hardest part of this recipe is having to wait for it to cook.
The cinnamon and sweet potato give it a really sweet smell.
I will defiantly be making this soup again.
Hope this helps.
