This chili is FANTASTIC!!! Once you have tried this you will not feel the need to go back to beef chili. I did take some of the other suggestions and made the following modifications: 1. browned the chicken 2. used on 1 1/2 TBSP chili powder total but 2 chipolte chilis 3. sauteed 1 chopped onion and 3-4 garlic cloves for the powerded onion and garlic 4. omitted the beer and chili powder at the end.

The ratings were so good that I wanted to try it. The recipe was easy and quick enough, but the result was rather disappointing. The only good thing was the flavor. Aside from that, it was watery, the ground chicken felt dry and crumbly, and the potatoes were hard. I am not certain what went wrong because I've made chili numerous times and never had such an outcome. I will not be trying this again.

This recipe is in heavy rotation at our house, we all love it! I've always used ground turkey and have omitted the chiles and beer, and the recipe is still lovely and complex and fabulous! We put shredded cheddar and green onions on it, and it is a winner every time. I have added another can of beans, just to increase the fiber, and that is wonderful, too.
    Can't miss with this recipe!

This is a really good chili recipe! I would have given this 5 stars, except that it was really the reviewers suggestions that took this tfrom a 4 star to a 5+ star recipe. I took several of the suggestions: 1. Brown the chicken 1st. 2. Added green pepper (I also added onion and sauteed before adding to the crockpot. 3. Reduce the amount of broth (I actually used wine white instead of chicken broth, so it wasn't runny - I prefer a "thicker" chile, so I also added a little more tapioca.

I would suggest you give this recipe a try - you will like it!

I made this chili this past weekend and shared it with my Mother and Brother. It was very easy, the meat broke up in small pieces and I considered browning it first next time, but my mother said she felt it was better in small pieces. shredding the sweet potatoe was kind of a pain but it adds to the flavor. The spice is perfet.

I give this recipe a 5 because the flavors are fantastic! However, my fiancee and I are huge on 'texture' dishes, and this one had a terrible consistency. Way too runny. The meat looked raw even though it had cooked on high for 2 hours and on low for 5.5 hours!

I would brown the chicken or turkey before making this again but I definitely DEFINITELY will make this again.

This chili is great! It has just the right amount of heat, but not overwhelming. I used ground chicken and found it at Whole Foods. The only thing I would change next time, is to stir it less when it's cooking so there are larger chunks of chicken and the meat doesn't break up as much. I figured out the nutritional information for the whole recipe and divided by the amount of servings and each serving is less than 300 calories!

My husband and I made this chili a couple of months ago and absolutely loved it so I am making it again today. We had a hard time finding ground chicken so we used/use ground turkey and it works (and tastes great! You will not regret making this chili!

This chili is amazing. My family loves it. I've made it with the ground chicken, but it can be hard to find and expensive so the last time I used chicken breasts and diced them up into small pieces. It turned out just as good. I made this for snack at work and received rave reviews, not to mention there was not one drop left! This is a keeper!

This was a great recipe!!! I tweaked it just a little after reading some reviews... Sauteed 3 cloves of garlic, and slightly cooked the chicken before putting it in the slow cooker. Only used one pound of chicken and one can of tomato since it's just me. Instead of the chipotles, I cut up a few jalapenos. And I used only 3/4 cups of chicken stock... Didn't add the beer.... It turned out wonderfully!!! And I have PLENTY left over for tomorrow... Definitely will make this again.
