We liked this corned beef and cabbage recipe very much. I also love to cook by using my crockpot. I don't know if it depends on the brand of the crockpot but 6 hours on high is more than enough. If I would have let the meat cooked for two more hours it just would have been overdone!

Followed exact recipe using Mccormick Pickling spice. Meat was tender and juicy and vegetables were cooked nicely. I'm not sure which spice in the seasoning it was but we found it slightly overwhelming - would use less next time and maybe cook the vegetables separately as they all tasted the same with the "overwhelming spice" flavor. Entire recipe was very easy and I put it in my crock pot on high before I left for work in the morning and it was cooked perfectly by the time I got home. Will definitely try the recipe again with less pickling spice.

Corned beef was excellet, but the veggies that cooked with it were too strong in pickling spice flavor. Had to make some mashed potatoes to go with it.

This was out standing. The best I have ever had.
My husband is still raving about this.
He wants to go to the store and buy another brisket.
Thanks Food Network gang.

I was surprised to see one reviewer's concerns about the meat being dried out. Ours was perfect! Still, next time I might lower the heat a bit, since some of the veggies, particularly the leeks, were over-cooked for our taste. There will most definitely be a next time, since we both loved this recipe. The horseradish sauce was very unusual and very delicious!

The only thing I did different was to only use carrots and potatoes and I think I used perahaps two pounds of each. I placed the corned beef in the bottom and then layered the carrots and the potatoes. The corned beef was pretty well seasoned at the store, so I did not add any seasoning. I cooked it as directed and the corned beef was the most tender corned beef I have had! This will be a stapple for many years to come!
