It was easy to make and the kids loved how it looked. The meatballs dry out quickly so try to serve them first. By day two they were not very moist. If you have kids - the frozen strawberry's did not go well with my kids taste buds. Next time I will use red food coloring and drip it around the cake for the "sauce look." I really enjoyed creating it with my kids - it was fun and a keeper in my recipe box.

It was so much fun & easy. My 10 year old daughter decorated the cake and it looked just like the picture. Will definetly make this again.

This was a fun project and a great gift for a very Italian birthday party. The assembly instructions were very clear and easy to follow. I did a little customization:
    - Added a layer to the base, and filled the layers with a Nutella butter cream
    - Made the outer icing a cream cheese butter cream that I tinted and used for the spaghetti - Mixed a tiny bit of Nutella with the crumbled chocolate cake, to keep the meatballs together
    - Pureed raspberries into a 'compote' for the sauce

The most important part of making this cake is how the 'sauce' is applied. The photo shows the meatballs with sauce all around them, but I was quickly taught that the sauce needed to be ladled over the meatballs.

Loved it! I used Smuckers strawberry ice cream topping for sauce. I made spaghetti and meatballs for dinner and this cake for dessert. It was a BIG hit and so easy to make. I can't recommend this enough. You will be so glad you tryed it and I know I will make it over and over.
