This pea soup was delicious. My husband said it was the best he ever had. And it was really easy to make. The one thing I didn't do was puree the soup. We prefer chunky soups.

I loved this recipe, it was a wonderful start for my first attempt at homemade split pea soup. I''m convinced it got better after a day in the fridge though. tonight I'm cooing it for the second time and adding a couple cloves of garlic, and substituting 4 cups of chicken stock, for 4 of the cups of water. I think it will be great.

This soup was the perfect way to use up my the leftovers of my Easter ham! It was simple and comforting, everything a split pea soup should be. I especially loved the thyme and parsley flavors. I add an extra carrot, celery rib and a few cloves of garlic, and left out a couple cups of water per the other reviews. Also, I sauteed the veggies in butter before adding the water, ham and peas. Great recipe!

I usually make another recipe (see below but decided to make this one to use up my ham bone and leftover ham from Easter. Was disappointed in overall flavor and failure of soup to really thicken. For a better and MUCH easier recipe try: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/mario-batali/soupe-aux-pois-pea-soup-recipe/index.html

This soup really hit the spot for a cold, rainy day. I used 4 cups of chicken broth and 4 cups of water instead of 8 cups of water. I may cut back on one cup of water the next time.

This makes a great basic pea soup. I doubled the recipe and cut back the liquid to to 12 cups using 8 cups of water and 4 cups of chicken broth. In addition, I didn't add the carrots until after I blended the soup, mostly because I like floating orange bits in the soup. Overall, a yummy easy soup that can be made in the slow cooker (which is how I made it while I went to the movies!

I have never made any kind of soup besides chicken and Mexican meatball soup. This split pea soup recipe was so easy and simple to follow and the soup came out great. However, I omitted one cup of water for a creamer texture. Thanks for this recipe, my family loves it!

This soup had a good flavour to it, but I found the consistency much too watery. I would omit 1 cups worth of the water.
