Every time I make this, it is a big hit. The cayenne is a great addition.

I never knew I liked peas so much! The medley of the English peas, snap peas, snowpeas is delicious with the dates, shallots, walnuts, and walnut oit. I wasn't sure if to splurge on the walnut oil but went ahead with it since it seems like it can be used for lots of dishes. This dish was really easy to make and as others have said it is great hot or cold. Trader Joe's has fresh English peas now that are shelled.

I fixed this dish recently for a pot luck with my women's Bible study - it was a HUGE hit. At several women's request, I ended up jotting down the recipe and we made photo copies for people to take home with them. The texture and flavors of this dish are excellent, and it tastes great served hot or cold. I highly recommend it!

Very good! Skipped the dates and added raisins instead.

Very tasty. I stopped by the farmers market and they didn't have spring peas so I used green beans instead, along with the snap peas. The flavors all blend so well.

A beautiful, absolutely delicious dish. So easy to make and enjoyed by everyone in the family (including one adult who refuses to eat anything green but agreed to try it and then ate 2 helpings!. Definitely a keeper.

Super, super yummy! Just a note... you may want to toast the walnuts separately and then add. I couldn't get mine toasted too well without the shallots burning.

I wasn't sure if I was going to like this, and quite a few in the family thought they definitely would not. It was very good! Everyone really enjoyed this dish! Easy to make and pretty on the table. I'll definitely make it again, and probably double the quantity of dates and walnuts, since those flavors weren't as pronounced as I would have liked. I used frozen peas, name brand, since fresh were not available. Yum!
