Directions
Set a steamer basket over rapidly simmering water with 1/2 lemon, a few parsley stems and 2 smashed garlic cloves in the water. Trim 4 large artichokes, removing the stems. Stand upright in the basket. Cover and steam over medium heat, adding more water as needed, until tender, about 45 minutes. Serve with melted butter for dipping.

It was very good - but took to long to cook. So - I got out my pressure cooker, cleaned the artichoke, placed it on the steamer pad, added 2 cups water; drizzled 1 tablespoon over it and 1/8 (or a good shake of garlic powder. Put the cooker top on it and brought it to 25 psi for 20 minutes. I let the cooker come down on it's own. WOW!! Was my artichoke good.
