The cookies came out well after I got the hang of transferring and decorating them.

These cookies didn't taste the sugar cookies my grammy used to make... In fact, they weren't sugary at all! Also, the frosting tasted just like confectioners sugar.

I made this for my Nices and Nephew for christmas day fun - it was a HUGE success!! I don't even have a stand mixer and it was stil easy to make. OF COURSE - make sure you read ahead - it REALLY REALLY matters if you put the rolled dough in the fridge over night.

I was feeling adventurous this year and decided, maybe there was a better sugar cookie recipe out there than the already great one I have. Well, this one was not it. Not only did it only produce about 3 dozen cookies instead of the 5 it claims, it was also, after adding a greatly additional amount of flour, too sticky to really make any cookie shapes. Not to mention that the icing recipe barely makes any icing, and must be quadrupled to cover those '5' dozen cookies. I consider my self to be somewhat of an expert baker and this recipe was not a good one. Stick with your old sugar cookie recipe or find a different one!

This is a pretty simple recipe. It does require almost double the flour than is called for in order to maintain a good consistency. It's simple enough to use as is or to add your own special touch (ie. cinnamon, lemon zest, powdered sugar, etc. Definitely recommend.
