My family loved these cookies. There were simple to make and taste great. Everyone especially like the conf. sugar glaze.

These were wonderful! I had to use more flour than called for in the recipe. I rolled them on powdered sugar....a tip from Paula Deen! They didn't stick, but I did work them in small batches while keeping the other dough cold. I think that is the trick here as it is with other sugar cookie dough I have used. I didn't ice them since I rolled them in powdered sugar, but I did sprinkle a few with colored sugar on top that I was bringing to work.

Wow! Great recipe Alton! I was a little hesitant on making these and i don't know why but im glad i did. These were delicious! I made them for a christmas party with friends and they all disappeared. Good recipe Alton. Im definitely saving this one! Great JOb Alton!

I just loved this recipe for sugar cookies. The buttery taste was absolutely wonderful. They came out of my oven so crisp the way I like a sugar cookie. I cut them with large Christmas cutters. I am eating them faster than I can put another batch in the oven. I did add some lemon zest but just enough to give it a hint of flavor. WOW I will send this recipe to my brother who loves to cook and bake.

The cookies were great, instead of rolling them, I chilled them in two rolls, and cut them into slices.

I had one heck of a time with these cookies. When I was trying to cut them using cookie cutters, they would almost melt on my. I had to keep putting them in the frige, and out again. This recipe is a pain, and I do not advise. I added more flour then the recipe called for also, they still melted in my hands.

Tried this recipe and cookies were very dry and crisp. Not horrible, but I wouldn't want to serve these for my guests during the holidays.
